We have one dentist at our dental practice, which means you see the same doctor for every visit, and Dr. Shipp thrives on getting to know all of his patients personally. We treat our patients like family because to us, they are family!
What can I expect at my first dental appointment?
When you arrive for your first appointment, expect to be greeted warmly by name by our friendly front office team members. They will check you in and collect and any forms you’ve completed; if you haven’t filled out your paperwork, please plan to arrive about 15 minutes before your appointment.
You will then meet with Dr. Shipp and your dental hygienist. They will conduct a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums and note any areas of concern. This information is the beginning of your patient record with us, so it’s important that we take our time.
If you need dental treatment, Dr. Shipp will explain why we recommend it and how it will benefit you. We’ll lay out a treatment plan that meets your needs and discuss insurance and financing options.

At Shipp Family Dentistry, we focus on building relationships with each of our patients that establishes mutual trust and understanding. You would be surprised how much easier it is to receive oral care when you feel safe and comfortable with your dental team.

What dental insurances do you accept?
We are a premier provider for Delta Dental and out of network for all other insurance plans. However, we will be happy to file your claim for you on your behalf regardless of which insurance you have. In this case, we would collect payment at the time of service, with reimbursement by the insurance company directly to you.
If you are not insured, please talk to us about CareCredit’s convenient patient financing.
Do you offer any financing for dental treatment?
Yes, we’re pleased to offer CareCredit third-party financing for our patients who don’t have dental insurance. Low or no-interest short-term loans with CareCredit allow you to receive the dental care you need and make small monthly payments that fit your budget.
